Sometimes there is not a single reason for Window 11 slow performance. Maybe your system needs an update (refer to ADD LINK OF PREVIOUS ARTICLE HERE for this) or most commonly, maybe your system is suffocating with compromised space. In this article let’s deal with making more space in your OS. And see how to fix it when Windows 11 is slow.

How to make more space in your OS

  • Delete temporary files
  • Run disk cleanup
  • Migrate windows 11 to SSD

Delete Temporary Files

Old temporary files are created in the memory of any system whenever a task is performed for the first time. This function helps to smoothen the same tasks in the future. But these temporary or corrupted files can be the cause of Windows 11 slow performance. Follow the below-mentioned steps to delete temporary files from your system:

Step 1: Open the ‘Run’ dialog box, using the ‘Window + R’ keys together.

Step 2: Now, type ‘%temp%’ then, tap the ‘Enter’ button to approach the ‘Temp Folder’ from C: drive.

Step 3: Choose the temp files using the ‘Ctrl + A’ keys together. Now, tap on the ‘Delete’ key so as to remove temporary files.

Step 4: If you see a dialogue box then, Choose the ‘Do this for all current items’ option and click on the ‘Continue’ button.

Note: Wait, till the deletion process completes. In case some temporary files still remain, then skip those files.

Once the user is done with the process, don’t forget to restart your laptop or PC and check if you could fix Windows 11 slow performance.

Run Disk Cleanup

If you could not resolve the Windows 11 slow boot issue and are still wondering how to fix it when Windows 11 is slow. Then, another method is to increase C drive space in your system. To achieve this, users can entirely rely on the EaseUS Partition Master, because of its reliable and intelligent disk partition management software. There are ‘Allocate space’ or ‘Resize/move’ options that will increase the space in your system’s C drive.

Step 1. Right-click on the System C drive then, select ‘Resize/Move’

Step 2. Drag the system’s partition end towards the unallocated space, so as to add it to the C: drive. Now, tap ‘OK.’

Step 3. Tap on the ‘Execute Operation’ then click ‘Apply’ to carry out the functions and extend the C drive.

Method 2

Extend system C drive without unallocated space

Step 2. Choose the system drive at the ‘Allocate Space From (*) to section.’ Now, drag the extreme of the System C drive into the unallocated space > Hit ‘OK’ to confirm.

Step 3. Tap on ‘Execute Operation,’ so as to enlist the pending operations. Now, click ‘Apply’ to extend the C drive and save the changes.

Migrate Windows 11 to SSD

In the worst case if Windows 11 slow performance still persists, try moving the Windows 11 OS to SSD. Users can choose the ‘Migrate OS’ feature by the EaseUS Partition Master tool for this task. This way you will be able to improve performance as well as the boot timing of your system. This tool is easy and reliable to use. So, follow the following steps to move Windows OS to SSD:

Note: The process of migrating Windows OS to SSD or HDD will remove and delete existing data and partitions on your selected disk if there is not enough unallocated space. So, it’s better to back up your important data beforehand, before starting this operation.
