Apple Maps have been updated and is now showing COVID-19 vaccination locations in the US. The new feature will make it easier for people to findthe nearest COVID-19 vaccination sites and make vaccine appointments.

Over 20,000 sites are already available in Apple Maps COVID-19 vaccination locations. The tech giant is planning to add with more sites to be added over the coming few weeks. Each vaccine location listing in Apple Maps has the operating hours and contact information for the site, and also provides a link to the provider’s website to schedule an appointment. Users can also ask Siri to find nearby COVID-19 vaccine providers throughout the US.Users can find nearby coronavirus vaccine providers by asking Siri, “Where can I get a COVID vaccination?”

Apple has also introduced a new feature wherein healthcare providers, labs, or other businesses can submit information on COVID-19 testing or vaccination locations on the Apple Business Register page. Once the authentication is complete, Apple will show information about the testing or vaccination locations to people using Apple Maps.

Along with helping US residents find nearby testing sites and vaccination locations, Apple Maps also display COVID-19 modules on the business place cards for more than 4,400 locations. This makes it convenient for retailers to communicate COVID-19-related information to their customers, like special shopping hours, store timings, etc.

Apple has also released a mobility data trends tool from Apple Maps to support the impactful work happening worldwide to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

In 2020, Apple had Apple updated Apple Maps to display COVID-19 testing sites in Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, New Zealand, Portugal, Taiwan, and Thailand.

 Social media giant Facebook is also said to be working on introducing VaccineFinder information to its COVID Information Centre. This will help usersto get appointments to get COVID vaccine. The COVID Information Centre will soon come to Instagram as well.
