- Log into your Gmail account on your computer
- Click on the cog icon
- Choose the option See all settings
- Click on the Offline tab from the navigation bar on the top
- Check the box Enable offline mail to turn on the offline mode and choose settings as per your requirement for the feature
- Click Save Changes once you have decided on the settings

Things to know as Gmail now works without Internet
Gmail will sync the latest emails for offline access as soon as the offline mode is turned on. It will keep them for a period ranging from 7 days to 90 days.
However, it is to be noted that when you write an email and send it, it would not be delivered to the recipient. It shall be saved in your Outbox folder and once you are back online, it will be delivered.
Google advises its users to bookmark Gmail in the Chrome browser to access the platform easily while offline.

How to uninstall the Gmail offline option?
If you ever feel the need to uninstall the Google offline option, do the following:
Step 1: Delete offline data
- Open Google Chrome on your computer
- Click on More at the top right
- Select Settings
- Click on Advanced at the bottom
- Choose Content settings under Privacy and security
- Tap on Cookies
- Select See all cookies and site data
- Choose the Remove all option
Step 2: Turn off Gmail offline
- Log into your Gmail account on your computer
- Click on the cog icon
- Choose the option See all settings
- Click on the Offline tab from the navigation bar on the top
- Uncheck the box Enable offline mail to turn off the offline mode
