Xiaomi Reveals its Tie-Up with Leica

Chinese mobile manufacturing company Xiaomi will soon launch a premium phone for which it has announced its collaboration with Leica Camera AG. Xiaomi in a press statement said that the first imaging flagship smartphone that has been developed by the two companies will officially be launched in July 2022.

Founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group Lei Jun said the company is focused on creating the ultimate user experience and it always hopes to explore the photography capabilities of smartphones. Xiaomi and Leica never face conflicts but rather share ideas and motivate each other’s work and industry.

He also said that during the corporation, from optical design to tuning aesthetic orientations, product philosophies, innovative technologies, and imaging preferences of both Xiaomi and Leica have experienced unparalleled in-depth collision and fusion.

CEO of Leica Camera AG Matthias Harsch said that it’s an honor for him to announce the long-term partnership with Xiaomi. Both Leica and Xiaomi have worked hard to provide their customers with the best photography experience and are global premium brands.

Xiaomi isn’t the first one to collaborate with a camera company

Xiaomi is not the first brand to announce such a collaboration, even Nokia, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, and many more have collaborated with camera companies. Nokia had worked with Zeiss, Vivo with Zeiss optics’ tech, and Oppo and OnePlus have worked with Swedish camera maker Hasselblad.

Collaborating with camera brands helps smartphone companies to boost their existing performance. Hope to see Xiaomi achieving its goal with Leica.

The company has not yet confirmed the name of the upcoming smartphone, but we will notify you as soon as it does.
