Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi 4i, Xiaomi Redmi Note, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G

The software is currently in beta stage and performance is likely to be shaky. So it’s important to have a back up of all your data before you download the new MIUI 7.

Check out these steps to download and have MIUI 7 installed on your Xiaomi smartphone:

Xiaomi has partnered with Foxconn to carry on with this job. It aims to manufacture all of the company’s smartphone going forward in India itself to cater to the domestic demand.

Redmi 2 PrimeHugo Barra, Xiaomi Global Vice President said, “Redmi 2 Prime is the first smartphone from Xiaomi to be assembled in our facility in Sri City. Vivo X5 Pro In-Depth Review: No Eye Scan Feature For Indian Market

After Xiaomi, China has unleashed Vivo on us—a leading manufacturer who has grown from regional to global– in the past two years. Vivo has unveiled its latest ware—the Vivo X5 Pro priced at Rs. 27980, which comes with eye scanning feature.  However, the variant for Indian retail mart will not have the eye scanning unlock feature. The overall appeal of the X5 Pro harks back to Vivo’s X5 Max design algorithm.

Is The Vivo X5 Pro Worth Its Rs. 27980?The Display

The round edges and sleek design make it easy to hold in one hand while the 5.2 incher screen is a letdown in the age of gigantic screens. The 1080×1920 px display is decent since it comes in Super AMOLED variety. The HD feature makes for crisp viewing angles and great color resolution for the screen.

The Processor And Camera

In fact, the overall appeal also reminds us of the Apple iPhone 6. The metal-glass body ups its class. The Vivo X5 Pro comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor that accounts for decent speed but really disappoints given that we have to pay Rs. 25K+ for the Vivo ware. The dual SIM slot is an added advantage with this much let down on cards. The full HD camera comes at 13 MP while the selfie snapper coffers average quality at 8 MP. 2 GB RAM offers fast booting but the internal memory again, is just too little at 16 GB onboard. However, this is expandable up to 128 GB.

Performance Sagas

The Vivo X5 Pro has its own skin for the version of Android 5.0, called the Fun Touch OS.  While this is an effort to replicate iOS, this barely comes even close. The icons, fonts and menu styles are similar but the app drawer is missing here. This, therefore, leads to a lot of clutter on the home pages. The handset does not hang up while viewing videos or even while playing games but we did experience some overheating while playing Angry Birds 2. As for the battery life, it is only very average with 2450 mAh onboard. It lasted about 8 and half hours while we viewed videos, browsed the internet as well as the usual social media usage.

Final Word

For all this, we believe that the pricing is a tad high but it does give budget customers a means to have an iOS-fed style phone in tow. Yet, we believe there are good enough phones from Lenovo, Yu and Xiaomi in this segment at lesser prices.

Here’s What Wonders MIUI 6 Interface Can Do For Xiaomi’s Mi 4i

The Chinese giant Xiaomi has caused more than a stir in Indian terrain with the Mi 4i. The MIUI 6 interface overlapping Android 5.0 Lollipop has been a talking point for initial buyers but we figured that the latest ware from China’s Apple has a lot more to offer in this context.

Besides the superb visuals on screen, the grand gesture responses and the amazing fonts styles, what got us hooked was ability to add a fresh home screen to accommodate  phone widgets in a less clustered way. Not that we have not seen this feature in the Note Series from Samsung or the LG L series, coming from a budget maker like Xiaomi, this is a surprise. There is also root access for all apps on the Mi 4i.

Perhaps the best part of the MIUI 6 security app is how it lets you hike up the battery life of the smartphone. There are three battery features such as Sleep, Marathon and Default. What’s more, you can create a personalized/customized profile for battery settings and schedule active and snooze modes too.

The camera on the Xiaomi Mi 4i comes with settings that allows you to click in highlighted tone, panorama as well as HHT. With so much on offer, we sure consider the MIUI a good smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi 4i Review

With the release of Xiaomi Mi 4i yesterday at New Delhi in India, it’s time for a neutral roundup of the smartphone. We love the beef in the Xiaomi Mi 4i thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615. There is no mediocre generation chip this time and with 1.7 GHz octa-core processor multitasking will be a cakewalk.

The Latest Xiaomi Mi 4iThe 5-inch screen size is not pathbreaking but we love the brightness and resolution thanks to 1080p display. The 2 GB RAM is a set standard in the current age but the 16 GB onboard storage offers ample meat for the price. The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is again not much of a surprise but the 3120 mAh battery indeed wows us.

Snapping selfies and pictures are an awesome experience with the 13MP main camera with HDR specifications inbuilt.  The 5MP front shutter makes you click fabulous selfies. The metal build is decent. The corners are pretty eye-catching but we feel the design is not really exclusive.

All said and done, the Mi 4i fails to actually give us a game changer but it does give us a great bargain. For starters, the pricing is exclusive and this is why Xiaomi could make it big in the Indian market. At INR 12,999, there will be many takers for this beauty.
