WhatsApp Will Not Work on These iPhones From October 24

Earlier this year, we discussed about the smartphones that will not support WhatsApp in 2022. The list included both Android and iOS devices. However, no immediate action was taken on all the smartphones on the list which also included some models of iOS.

In a recent report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is soon going to end support for iOS 10, iOS 11, iPhone 5, and iPhone 5C. The company has already started to ask iPhone users to update their iPhones if they want to have access to WhatsApp.

Some of the iPhone users are already seeing a warning message that says “WhatsApp will stop supporting this version of iOS after October 24. Please go to Settings > General, then tap software update to get the latest iOS version.”

Fortunately, there are not many iPhones that run on iOS 10 and iOS 11. As mentioned above, WhatsApp will stop working for the people from October 24, 2022, who own iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. However, people using iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 can still access WhatsApp on their devices as of now. These users will be notified well in advance if WhatsApp will stop supporting their devices too.

WhatsApp has clearly stated on its Help Centre page that iPhone users are required to run iOS 12 or a newer version if they want to keep using the messaging app.

Similarly, Android users are required to have Android 4.1 or the newer version to use WhatsApp without any difficulty.
