VLC Media Back in India, Ban Lifted

Good news on cards from the Indian Government. The government has finally decided that the ban on VLC player will no longer remain valid. South Asia, specifically India, has been the biggest market for VLC media player always.

However, earlier in the year, the media player from VLC had been banned from The Ministry of Electronics and IT’s end. VideoLAN had reacted with filing of a legal notice for seeking clarity from ministries of IT and telecom. Internet Freedom Foundation or IFF,  advocacy group from Delhi went on to help VideoLAN as well.

Summing up

Post the ban lifting, VideoLAN, the handle from Twitter later thanked them by saying, “Awesome work from @internetfreedom, if you are India, you should support them!”
