How to use new participant approval feature on WhatsApp groups?
- Open the WhatsApp app on your device
- Click on the group’s name that you need to enable the feature for
- Open the Group Info page by clicking on the group’s name at the top
- Scroll down to find the Group Settings option and click on it
- Enable the Approve New Participants option under group settings which is by default set to off
- Hit the Approve New Participants
- Choose the On option from the pop-up screen
The admin approval feature is enabled now as it already said, “When turned on, admins must approve anyone who wants to join the group.”
How to approve or deny requests from participants?
Now that you have turned on the approval feature, you have the option to accept or deny any request from people wanting to join the group. Anybody who wishes to join your group needs to click on the Join group option from the group link floating around social media platforms. As soon as the person does that, he would be shown a pop-up that would say Request to join.
When the interested person hit the Request to join option that says “An admin must approve your request”, a notification with the “pending request” would be sent to your device. Click on the notification and decide whether you want to deny or approve the request. Alternatively, you can go to the Group info page and scroll to find the Pending Participants option.
When you click on it, a list would appear and you can accept or deny their requests by pressing the ‘X’ or ‘✓’ option.
