A new Linktree feature has been rolled out by Instagram enabling users to add up to five links to their profiles. Users may link their brands, businesses, promotional products, social cause support page, links to other social media platforms, etc. This feature would direct followers to the content links updated by the user profiles.

Mark Zuckerberg revealed the feature on his broadcast channel in a short post. This is one of the top most requested features as several content creators asked for it. Even Mark wrote, “probably one of the most requested features we’ve had,” without divulging the details much.
Meta said it would allow any link that adheres to the ‘Community Guidelines and Terms of Service’. All links would be scanned to confirm that they are within the guidelines and pose no threat or harm to anybody.

How to use the feature?
- Open the Instagram app and go to your profile page
- Click on Edit profile
- Select Links
- Choose the Add external link option
- Drag and drop the links in incorporate in order of your preference
It is to be noted that the links do not directly open the intended website in a separate browser but it opens in the Instagram app itself. If you want to open the link in a different browser, you need to tap on the ellipsis menu placed at the top of the page and select “open in the system browser”.
