In a recent announcement, Instagram stated that it would discontinue its live shopping feature. This feature allows people to tag products during their live broadcasts. It would take effect on 16th March 2023.
Instagram says
Instagram shared on its support page, “Beginning on March 16, 2023, you will no longer be able to tag products in live broadcasts on Instagram. This change will help us focus on products and features that provide the most value to our users.”
No need to worry
The feature may be gone but people can continue to set up and run their businesses on Instagram. The company would continue to, “invest in shopping experiences for people and businesses across the feed, stories, Reels, ads and more.”
Other live broadcasting features like scheduling a live broadcast, inviting people to join a live broadcast, and holding a live Q&A would remain unaffected as assured by Instagram. In January 2023, Instagram spoke about removing the shopping tab from the main bar effective from February 2023.

The Shop tab would be replaced by the Reels tab which is now positioned in the front and center of the navigation bar. The Shoo tab is placed where the heart icon for notifications was placed previously.
