Is HTC Vive all set to release its latest fitness-focused VR headset -Vive Air? The never-before-seen HTC headset has already won HTC Vive Design Award 2021 even without having an official launch. The fitness-focused headset is just a concept. According to a leak seen at World Design Guide awards, the new VR focussed headset will offer a lightweight, relaxed design with up to four tracking cameras.
VR Headset – HTC Vive design features
HTC Vive Air are designed to capitalise on the growing popularity of VR fitness. As stated in the Design Guide description, the Vive Air is “specially designed for virtual fitness, optimized for high intensity with long use.” The interesting bit is that it comprises knitted materials enthused by running shoes that are breathable and quick-drying for better airing during strenuous workout sessions.

The advanced lightweight construction allows users to forget the existence of the head-mounted display to focus on virtual content. The quick-release design allows the removal of ergonomic soft components for washing.
The headset is undoubtedly very Quest-like in overall appearance, offering up four camera sensors for room-scale tracking and possibly also hand tracking. Also, the easy to wash and with better tracking capability makes a lot of sense. If HTC plans to release the device, it is still not certain if the company will also introduce other fitness accessories as well.
