WhatsApp has officially launched the calling feature secured with end-to-end encryption for desktop to offer users a more seamless experience. The company had already rolled out the beta version of this feature last year to some users.

How to Officially Make WhatsApp Web Video Call on Desktop
As of now, WhatsApp shall only allow individual video calls and not group video calls, although it does intend to introduce the latter soon. Here’s how you can make a one-to-one WhatsApp desktop video call.
Step 1. Install the WhatsApp app on your desktop and login through the QR code.
Step 2. Tap on a contact with whom you wish to make a video call.
Step 3. Hit the video call icon in the chat box.

If you don’t want to install any external tool, you can simply put Facebook’s Messenger Rooms to use. This feature only requires an active Facebook account and allows you to make calls to up to 50 contacts at once. Follow these simple steps to enjoy group calling feature via Messenger Rooms on WhatsApp.
Step 1. Open WhatsApp Web on your laptop’s browser and sign in by scanning the QR Code from your phone.
Step 2.Tap on the three dots on the top right side of the notifications panel and select ‘Create a Room’ from the dropdown menu.
Step 3.Next, you will see a message asking to ‘Continue in Messenger’. Upon clicking on this, you will be taken to Facebook where it will ask you to sign in, if the account is not already open.
Step 4. Select ‘Create Room As <name>’ and start the video call by sharing the link generated with the concerned contacts.
You can also create a room with an individual contact by opening their chat and tapping on the ‘Room’ icon available in the attachment menu. Note that this method involves Facebook and the WhatsApp web video call takes place outside of the app.
