  1. Why did the Indian government ban these apps?

The Indian government banned these apps due to national security and privacy concerns. The government claimed that these apps steal user data and transmit it to servers outside India without user consent, which poses a threat to the country’s security.

  1. Are there any non-Chinese apps that have been banned in India?

Yes, some non-Chinese apps have also been banned in India. For example, in June 2020, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps, including the popular short video app TikTok. In September 2020, it banned 118 more apps, including the popular game PUBG, which is developed by a South Korean company. In addition, some non-Chinese apps such as the Pakistani app ‘Sarhad’ and the Russian app ‘TikTok Lite’ were also banned.

  1. Will these banned apps be allowed again in the future?

It is hard to say whether the ban on these apps will be lifted in the future. The Indian government has not indicated that it plans to lift the bans anytime soon. 1. Can I still use these banned apps in India?

No, you cannot use these banned apps in India. If you have already installed them on your phone, you will not be able to access them.
