NIXI is all set to introduce .bharat domain for regional languages

The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) has announced that apart from the .in domain, they will now be providing the ‘.bharat’ domain names in different Indian languages. Nixi CEO Govind told PTI that .bharat domain is already available in languages based on the Devnagiri lipi (script) such as Hindi, Bodo, Konkani, Dogri abd Marathi. The domain also supports Bengali, Gujarati, Manipuri, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu languages. Now, .bharat will be extended to other regional languages of India. 1000 users take .bharat domains in 3 days NIXI offered the .bharat domain to around 1000 people at the 3-day 10th World Hindi Sammelan. The event was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As this is a comparatively new domain, users were also guided on using Devnagiri on their site. Nintendo Co., The Pokemon Co. and Niantic announced that they will be launching the augmented reality-based game for smartphones.
