Makers of gaming hardware, software and systems Razer Inc. recently released a teaser poster for their upcoming smartphone, which is their first. When news came in that the company is developing its first smartphone, there was little clarity on what would be their differentiating factor. However, ever since news of features of the first Razer smartphone features have come to light, we can safely say that they are targeting this smartphone to their primary customer—gamers.
The company seems to have stood firm with their motto ‘For Gamers, By Gamers’. So the new Razer smartphone, which will be released on 1 November 2017, is going to be exclusively designed for gaming purposes. Interestingly, the upcoming Razer gaming smartphone has been revised after continuous feedback from some top professional streamers. In this attempt, the company gave the world’s top streamers a chance to use the device, and recorded their reactions.
The streamers found its twist to turn-off the device interesting and called it the best feature that people would fall in love with. One of the streamers appreciated the possible smartphone saying it emits just right amount of light to your face, making the view both clear and comfortable to eyes. Its small size and portability adds convenience to the whole user experience.
How about the selfies?
Ladies, if you are a gamer who enjoys selfies, this one could be your best bet this season. If the leaked images are anything to go by, it is going to have a rear camera set up with a rectangular design. There also seems to be an LED flash on the top left corner of the phone, which will add to the selfie. This one should have a 12MP rear camera, and a 7MP front camera. Together, this should seal the deal for selfie lovers.
Expected to run on Android Nougat, the phone is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC. Additionally, the smartphone is likely to have 8GM RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
A teaser of the phone was first posted to Razer’s Twitter account by the company. It shows a man holding what seems like a smartphone. We anticipate that this small mysterious device has a lot new for serious gamers, to say the least.
Turning to smartphones
Razer is a leading producer of lifestyle gaming products. Its striking green logo, which is a triple-headed snake, is popular among gaming communities and reminiscent of possible the oldest mobile game everyone played on Nokia phones. Much new is happening for Huawei smartphones. Huawei is expected to release its new smartphone in its Mate series on 16 October. The upcoming Huawei Mate 10 will be the first Huawei phone to feature the latest Android Oreo.
So far only a promotional poster of the mobile due to launch is out. Already, there is much anticipation taking rounds over the internet. Let’s see what’s unique about the much speculated upcoming launch.
We saw some leaked photos of Huawei Mate 10’s breathtaking outside. No doubt, the smartphone’s got really good looks. Its predecessor, Huawei Mate 9 was among the best large screen phone last year with amazing battery life and internal power. Not to forget the snapper on the back.
Here is what we are expecting from the upcoming lunch. Huawei Mate 10 is believed to give competition to high cost headsets such as iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. This one is also going to be a large screened phone as its predecessor.
We are not certain about the launch date; we heard it online that October 16 is announced as launch date during an event held at Munich. When it comes to price, we expect it to be high because Huawei Mate 9 was also expensive. Launched last year in November, Huawei Mate 9 was priced at $599.99. We expect Mate 10 to be priced higher than the Mate 9. Let’s hope it will not be too much expensive.
It is likely to be bazel-less, standing 6-inch high with 2:1 display and 2160×1080 resolution. It may have dual-lens front-facing camera featuring 3D face scanning capability. It will have 23 MP and 20MP dual-lens camera and will be powered by 4000mAh of a battery that will last longer and charge faster. Huawei CEO Richard Yu recently said that the Huawei Mate 10 will have improved camera quality which will certainly please prospective buyers.

What do you think are the factors that affect family planning? According to a Yale study, success in careers is a determiner of family planning for career-focused women. The study was performed on the basis of survey data collected from over 4,700 US women in their middle ages. It turns out, that career-oriented women are more likely to prioritize planned pregnancy than women who are less career-focused. The study also revealed that women more conscious about their careers show higher optimism towards artificial reproduction methods and were less likely to feel concerned about artificial reproduction technologies.
In response to the study findings, co-author and gynecologist Stephen Collins of Yale New Haven Hospital said that understanding perceptions of career-focused women on fertility issues are important to those working in the field. It is surprising to see that women are optimistic about artificial reproductive technologies and that they trust such innovations.
In the study, participants were asked to rate importance of success in their lives in relation to importance to pregnancy planning and different artificial reproductive technologies. As a result, many correlations were observed in the responses. For instance, women who said success is very important were thrice more likely to vote for importance of pregnancy planning, when compared with women who gave relatively less or no importance to career success.
In all, 90% of the women surveyed were positive about using reproductive technology to conceive in their 30s. The positive response favors the research in artificial reproductive technologies. The study results make experts in the field to appreciate the research findings.
This means women are less worried about the pregnancy complication they might face with growing age. This also let women follow their dreams, excel in their professions and more importantly achieve greater strides in academics.
However, there lingers a doubt whether all the women have access to reproductive technologies. This could also cast a doubt over the study findings as career-focused women are more likely to afford reproductive technologies than those not-so -much career-focused. Because career-oriented women are more resourceful, they have an option to consider family planning.

This year, Black Friday falls on 24th November 2017. Most of us like this day because it is the best day to shop. It’s the best holiday if you like to shop. Let’s trace back to the origin of this holiday that is celebrated in many countries today and the number is on the rise. The day is considered as the busiest shopping day of the year. Stores open as early as 4 AM. Some even open at midnight to offer promotional sales.
So why is the day called ‘Black Friday’, why not Red or Blue? Well the term was coined by Philadelphia police or bus drivers to describe the traffic observed a day after Thanksgiving. Streets were clogged with traffic caused by people heading to shopping stores. However, businesses did not like this negative explanation to the term and later, a new explanation came to be.
Sale day in other words, Black Friday is followed every year with multiple controversies. Most of them associated with lack of staff in stores, exposing them to over shifts, and rise in visitors’ violence. The day comes after Thanksgiving Day which is celebrated every fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Though not an official holiday, California and few other states in the US observe Black Friday as a holiday, which is followed by two weekends offs leading to a four-day shopping weekend.
The approaching Monday is coined as Cyber Monday. It is another shopping day for those who still wants to shop or didn’t find what they were looking for over the weekend. However, on Cyber Monday people shop online. This means people can make purchases from their offices and homes. Cyber Monday was the busiest day of 2014 with $2 billion sales in desktop online spending which was higher by 17% from the previous year.
Black Friday indicates the beginning of Christmas shopping season. During the 19th and 20th Century, stores would advertise Christmas shopping on the occasion of Thanksgiving. Back then, Thanksgiving parades sponsored by shopping stores were used to advertise Christmas shopping. Many people view this practice as inappropriate and it became socially unacceptable. But soon, people came up with the idea to start advertising Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving Day. It is now fashionable ‘not’ to advertise Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving.
The story has a capitalist angle too. Many believe that stores wanted the Christmas shopping season to stay on for longer. To offer a solution to this, in 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt announced that Thanksgiving would be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November instead of the last Thursday. This extended the shopping season by a week. Later, an act of Congress reinforced this change.
Are you up for some Black Friday sales online now? Watch this space to stay tuned for some great Black Friday deals in the coming weeks.

You know what they say about monopoly—it is business at the end of its journey. To think of Google here would sound exaggerated right now. However, there have been many cases recently where Google has been warned for misusing its position in the search market. Global economic forums and anti-trust agencies are keeping a close eye on their activities to prevent a global technology giant from creating ripples in the market.
Recently, the European Union’s competition commission slapped Google with a $2.7 billion antitrust fine, inquiries while blaming the popular search engine for giving out false shopping results. Google is being criticised for promoting its own shopping comparison higher than others.
European Commission first reported the matter to Google in 2015. It studied 1.2 Billi inquiries before arriving on the decision that Google was unfairly manipulating shopping results. There were hundreds of companies that complained about Google for displaying its shopping services inappropriately.
EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestages called it an abuse and illegal under European antitrust laws. According to European Competition Commission guidelines, Google should be unbiased and treat its rival services equal to its own when comparing prices.
In support of the internet giant, Google General Counsel Kent Walker said that Google’s shopping comparison is a service provided to customers. He explained his point using the example of Puma shoes that has links to five different European retailers.“Our data shows that people usually prefer links that take them directly to the products they want, not to websites where they have to repeat their searches,” said Walker. Clearly, Google completely disagrees with the fine imposed by the EU antitrust.
The search engine giant can appeal this decision to the bloc’s highest courts and they have 90 days to take any action. It can either try to end the conduct or pay the penalty amount, which accounts for up to 5% of the company’s average daily global revenue. Google has been asked to ensure that it complies with the EU antitrust guidelines and finds ways to implement the decision.
This is not the first time that Google is accused of an anticompetitive activity. In past, it was reported that Google has promoted its apps and services unfairly to suppress competition of Android devices.
