Xiaomi 12S Ultra with Leica Optics is Out Now

Xiaomi unveiled its latest smartphone Xiaomi 12S Ultra during its annual flagship launch event in China. This launch marks the beginning of Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica. The new 12S Series runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and features MIUI 13 based on Android 12.

Specifications and features of Xiaomi 12S Ultra

Display

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra comes with a 6.3-inch LTPO 2 2K AMOLED screen and has a refresh rate of 120Hz.

Camera

The 12S Ultra has three back cameras with a brand new 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary sensor. It offers a resolution of 50.3MP and there’s a 48MP ultrawide sensor as well.

The phone has a 32MP front camera.

Battery and storage

The phone packs a 4860mAh battery and 67W wired/50W wireless fast charging. For managing battery, Xiaomi has also added two custom chips- Surge P1 and G1.

The 12S Ultra offers up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

Price and availability

As of now, Xiaomi 12S Ultra is only available in China for sale. And the company has no plans for launching it outside China.

The starting version of smartphone will be priced at CNY 5,999 i.e., approximately RS 70,800. Whereas, the phone is priced at CNY 6,499 (approx. RS 76,700) for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and for 12GB RAM and 256 storage it is priced at CNY 6,999 (approx. RS 82,600).

Colour options

Buyers can get their hands either on a Classic Black or a Verdant Green smartphone. Both of these are wrapped in vegan leather.

At present, the latest Xiaomi 12S Series is available for pre-ordering in China. Interestingly, 12S ultra could be the first Android phone that is capable of recording videos in Dolby Vision HDR.
