On Wednesday, Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the new United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union area office and Innovation Center. He revealed the Bharat 6G Vision document and launched the 6G R&D testbed.
PM Modi said in this speech, “I’m happy that on the first day of new year, a remarkable beginning related to telecom, ICT & related innovation is taking place in India. The 6G testbed has also been launched.”
About Bharat 6G Vision document
The document has been prepared by the Technology Innovation Group on 6G. In November 2021 the group was formed to design a roadmap as well as action plans for 6G in India. The members of this group include experts from R&D institutions, standardization bodies, academia, businesses, telecom service providers, and officials from different ministries and departments.
About 6G testbed
The 6G testbed is a platform that would offer industry, academic institutions, MSMEs, start-ups, and others to test and verify the ever-evolving ICT technologies.
