Nokia is offering two new feature phones with built-in UPI features. The models are Nokia 105 2023 and Nokia 106 4G. These cost Rs. 1299 and Rs. 2199 respectively. The Nokia 105 shall be available in three color variants- red, cyan, and charcoal. The Nokia 106 4G would be available in two color options- charcoal and blue.
The phones are integrated with UPI 123PAY. It is an instant payment system developed especially for feature phones by NPCI. This is a safe and secure system to do transactions, making purchases, etc. UPI 123PAY offers four technology alternatives to do the transactions. These are utilizing app functionality, dialing an IVR, proximity sound-based payments, and another approach based on a missed call. All these modes ensure accessibility and flexibility for making transactions.
As expected from the brand, both models have an exceptional battery life. The Nokia 105 comes with a 1000mAh battery and the Nokia 106 4G comes with 1,450 mAh battery. Moreover, the Nokia 106 4G has been tested under severe conditions for durability to confirm its capacity to endure rough usage. Thus, the users get a resilient and robust handset.
Both devices come with an IPS LCD. This offers superior performance, improved color reproduction, and viewing angles as compared to TFT and PLS. The phones also have an integrated MP3 player and provision for using FM radio.
Nokia intends to encourage financial inclusion and bridge the digital divide with its newly launched phones. Now UPI option shall be accessible to more people at a lesser cost as previously only smartphone users could take the benefits of UPI.
