Though there is no confirmation nor any hint from the company, reports indicate the new device may come out in the market in December 2015 or by early 2016. This is not all. There are speculations that the new Surface phone might be a Lumia.

Recently, Microsoft announced that the company will be cutting down 7,800 employees most of which have been working in mobile division. Microsoft also stated that the company will write off its seven billion deals with Nokia and will also be closing research and development center in Finland.
There were rumors that Microsoft will be preparing for job cuts since its hardware business comprising of windows mobile unit was not doing well. According to Techradar.com, Microsoft stated that the company will be following a different strategy which will involve creating and implementing a good Windows OS ecosystem for the users. The company was also planning to put concentrated focus on its mobile device portfolio and will also retain the capability of innovating in mobility. An e-mail with this message was sent from Satya Nadella to the employees of Microsoft.
Follow up of March job cuts
We all are aware of the fact that, Microsoft recently laid off 18,000 people across the globe as in order to restructure and cut down costs. But the recent job layoffs have come just after the departure of Stephen Elopfrom the company. Elop was the former CEO of Nokia and was hired by Microsoft after the company took over Nokia. It must also be noted that Microsoft is not only cutting jobs but has also decided to write off its deal with Nokia. The company has now decided to focus its attention to Windows 10 which will be releasing in the last week of July.
The Lumia 640 has become a fan favourite due to speeds, reliability and sharpness and ease of pic taking with its camera. Despite being a budget choice, Nokia had delivered immense value with this handset. Then again, the Windows OS killed all the great specs on the phone and to the lack of bandwidth to support the right apps on the Lumia 640.
The Lumia 640 Hardware
Not just that we do not like the plasticy build either, despite it belonging to old-school Nokia ideals. In terms of hardware and longevity alone, the Lumia 640 appears to be a great bargain.
At 8.8 mm, this is not Size Zero phone but is surely a good one to carry around easily. The quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 that powers it is worth it as if the 1GB RAM size.
Only if you are a real big enthusiast, this set up could appeal to you. The contract comes at £14 on a monthly basis with a yearlong trial for Office 365 Personal. Besides this, the entire array of MS apps and One Drive are available as well.

What’s Not Coming Out?
Few other tablets and phones that had been rumored to release soon have been chopped off the block. Of course, we must remember that these are conjectures at the moment. However, nothing is confirmed. Microsoft has not forayed in to add any more sparks to such things. Stay tuned to this space to know when what leak surfaces.
Slow but steady, that is what the sales reports of Microsoft Lumia indicates. The company, which has already made successful business in the Indian and EU markets is slowly increasing its prominence in the Pakistani markets too, reports The News. When interviewed by The News, Patrick Mercanton, the marketing head of the company for Emerging Asia, Levant, North Africa and Near-East said that the Windows phones are now officially in the number two position in terms of sales volume.
According to the reports, the change in Lumia’s brand name from Nokia to Microsoft did not affect the sales in Pakistan and new phones, especially Lumia 535 has received an overwhelming response in the country. The reports also indicate that the demand of Windows phones has topped the demand of the iOS phones yet it is still far behind the Android phones.
However, the reports of 2015 first quarter is quite impressive and the company expects the sales to grow once Windows 10 is officially launched.

Nokia Lumia 1520 manages to score a sixer if we solely look at it as a phablet. Yes, it still is a Nokia ware officially and it does give some competition to the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus from Samsung and Apple respectively.
The beginning trump card of the Nokia Lumia 1520 is its 6-incher screen size. Perks of the screen include a full bow high definition display that also comes boosted with IPS display and something the maker markets as ClearBlack. Therefore, reading on the Lumia 1520 even under dim light is not an irritant.
The quality of images and text is sharp and given that it stands at 368 pixels per inch this is no surprise. The physical aspect of the handset cannot be undermined since it is feather-weight to hold and easy to grip. The best bit is how we almost forgot that this is a phone– not just a tablet. Overall, we love this bold phablet from Nokia. For the 16GB variant, be ready to shell out $585.

There is no denying on Samsung’s stronghold in this competitive smartphone market. Yet, Nokia is gradually making a mark in this business and some of the Lumia models have enjoyed exceptional demand in the market. Loaded with attractive features and useful specifications, it is often very difficult to make a pick between Lumia 920 and Galaxy S6. While Lumia is available in Black, Grey, Red, White and Yellow color, Samsung is available in Black, Blue Green, Gold and White color, offering plenty of options for the users. Samsung offers an impeccable display quality with super AMOLED touchscreen n screen and 2560×1440 resolution. However, Lumia comes with IPS LCD touchscreen 1280×768 resolution.
The diagonal display of 5.1-inches makes Samsung Galaxy S6 to be a better choice over Lumia 920 with 4.5-inches diagonal display. Yet, both the phones offer hassle free performance as Lumia 920 uses Qualcomm MSM8960 processor and Galaxy S6 uses Samsung Exynos 7420 processor.
To offer best experience to users, Lumia features Windows 8.1 operating system and Samsung runs on Android 5.0. Yet, Lumia 920 is restricted to 32GB built-in storage and 1GB RAM while Galaxy S6 features 32GB, 64GB and 128GB built-in storage with 3GB RAM.
To offer the best experience to users, Samsung S6 offers 16 megapixel rear camera while Lumia comes with 8 megapixels rear camera. Though Samsung S6 offers some of the high-end features , it is exhorbitantly priced making Lumia 920 a good option for people with moderate budget.
Reportedly; pre-orders of the Nokia’s handset are all sold-out with AT&T. Costing $299, the smartphone comes with a new two year contract with the carrier, with the delivery starting on July 23rd.
With a 4.5 inch WXGA AMOLED display, the Lumia 1020 holds a resolution of 1,280 x 768 pixels and brags a huge 41-megapxiel camera. With dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor, the smartphone sports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.
Considering the success of Lumia 1020, should the big rivals in line including Apple and Samsung be worried? Apple is working on its iPhone 6 and Samsung on Galaxy S5. However, both the smartphones hold innovative features but nothing can beat Nokia’s camera. Apple’s iPhone 6 will hold a 12-megapixel camera whereas Samsung Galaxy S5 will sport a 16-megapixel, which stands nowhere against Lumia’s mega 41-megapixel.
The success indicates Nokia is far more serious to become the market leader and therefore both Samsung and Apple must incorporate high-end features in their forthcoming iPhone 6 and Galaxy S5 to knock-off Lumia 1020 in the game.
Nevertheless, Apple and Samsung must take risk and develop what no one else has offered till now and watch out for this competitive Nokia pie on the table.… Read the rest
