However, one of the fewer things that is annoying about WhatsApp is that it does not let sending high-resolution pictures. How to send high-quality photos on WhatsApp?
For iPhone
- Open the Photos App
- Select the picture you want to send
- Click on Share or click on the Square with Arrow Up option
- Choose the Save to Files option and select the desired location
- Click Save
- Go to WhatsApp and open the chat window of the recipient
- Click on the ‘+’ symbol at the bottom left
- Choose Document
- Tap on Browse
- Find the photograph you saved earlier
- Hit the Select button if you want to send multiple
- Select it and hit the Send button
- The recipient will receive it as a document and shall be able to save it in their gallery
For Android
- Open the individual or group chat window on WhatsApp
- Tap on the paper clip icon at the bottom
- Choose Document
- Click on Browse other docs to find the picture
- It should be in your camera folder most probably
- Choose the photograph and click Send
For both iPhone and Android
Method 1
- Open WhatsApp
- Go to Settings
- Hit the Storage and data option
- Find the Media upload quality option
- Select Best Quality
This option is not available for WhatsApp web users. It is to be noted that the quality of the picture would be of higher resolution but not the best quality.
Method 2
- Open the file manager of your device
- Choose the picture you want to send
- Rename it from JPEG or PNG to PDF or .doc
- Go to WhatsApp and open the individual or group chat window
- Tap on the paper clip icon at the bottom
- Choose Document
- Click on Browse other docs to find the renamed picture
- Tell the recipient to rename the file again to JPEG or PNG from PDF or .doc
Method 3
- Open the file manager of your device
- Choose and store all the pictures you want to send in a file
- Compress it directly or use a third-party zipping app
- Go to WhatsApp and open the individual or group chat window
- Tap on the paper clip icon at the bottom
- Choose Document and find the zip folder
- Select and send
- The recipient has to unzip the file upon receipt
Method 4
- Upload the pictures to either Gdrive or iCloud
- Choose the images you want to send
- Right-click to get a sharable link
- Copy the link and share the same with the intended recipient on WhatsApp
