Apple 5G phone in India
The iPhone 12 is the company’s first range to offer 5G support and is the first 5-G enabled to be made in India.
With iPhone SE, Apple started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017. Later, the company also manufactured iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and now iPhone 12. However, Apple started local production within six months after launching iPhone 12.
The company stated that the iPhone 12 models produced in India will be sold locally only. The device will be assembled by Apple’s Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn near Chennai.

The price of the iPhone 5G phone in India starts at Rs. 79,900. It is about Rs.13,900 more when compared to the US pricing.

Over the next five years, Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron have together committed about $900 million to make iPhones in India. According to Reuters, they will leverage New Delhi’s $6.7 billion plan to boost smartphone export.
