OpenAI’s plan
AI is now widely used in tasks from content writing to coding to so many other things. Thus, it is a great option for OpenAI to expand its user base. More countries would get the Android app over the next week as confirmed by OpenAI. A few days ago, the company updated a pre-order page on Google Play. People in countries where the app is not available yet can pre-order the app.
ChatGPT app for iPhone
iPhone owners may already be using the app as the official ChatGPT app is available on the Apple store for quite some time now. However, the Android release is a significant milestone for the company since Android users outnumber iOS users to a great extent.
Functionality
The app would function similarly to the ChatGPT web version. It is just that the interface has been optimized for smartphones. People can use their existing OpenAI accounts to access the app version. It should also have the past conversations if you have “chat history & training” enabled in the web version. Enabling and disabling would happen across all devices when you do it on any device.
Free and paid options
While people can sign up for the free ChatGPT account, the company offers subscriptions as well. With a subscription, people can access the more advanced large language model, GPT-4, and other features.
