AppleStore no Longer has Room for VK Apps from Russia

Apple has suddenly made apps from VK unavailable. A number of VK apps have since been unavailable for download on the AppStore. However, all previously installed apps continue to function as usual. The reports for the same have come in from a Russian company.

The Inner Deets

VK also confirmed that Apple blocked a number of its apps, and these are currently  unavailable on the AppStore. VK has also asked for an official confirmation on the same from the American tech giant Apple.

More specifically, the apps in context are that of VK Music, Clips and also its Messenger applications. These are  no loner available from AppStore. On Google Play, though, Vkontakte app is continuing to work.

Earlier, in August reports of SBOL app’s removal from AppStore was doing rounds. This app enabled customers of Sberbank on iOS devices to make use of the banking services. Even Google Playstore no longer hosts this app.

Summing Up

Jn August, Foreign Ministry rep from Russia? Maria Zakharova said, “Apple shares totalitarian values. This is how she reacted to the company’s threats to remove the Rutube application from the AppStore.”

Prior to the comment, in April this year? Russian PM Mikhail Mishustin suggested building an alternative for App Store as well as Google Play. He had hinted that the American platforms night stop running in Russia.
