Instagram finally announced launch of a feature for searchable Maps feature. This is targeted to make it easy to find locations or businesses for getting discovered. Japan already had access to Insta Maps since a year back but the latest roll out is global.
How Maps Work?
The search will work by looking up tagged and popular locations around users. You can look up locations as per specific categories using tags such as restaurants, salons, and cafes. This searchable Maps helps you discover places based on tagged posts or guides and Stories. Searches via hashtags also work.
A New Way to Discover and Share
Instagram Maps can also help businesses see discovery. An online survey that Meta commissioned revealed that 96 per cent respondents said that they discover products and brands online. Use the Feed or Explore options on Instagram to look up new places. All your earlier stories are accessible under Archive.
You may use the Instagram Maps option for saving locations to any collection for future look up. Share Locations with friends or groups through direct messages.
You may use location tags or a sticker in your content for it to appear on map if if your own profile is public
