As expected, Apple added an ‘always on’ feature to the iPhone 14s. In other words, it just means a lock screen (which is customizable this time).

The company has added the controversial ‘notched’ design, in which cameras and other sensors stay a square-ish section, on the top of the screen. That’s why this section is called ‘dynamic island.’

The camera is added as a tiny hole, but when the iPhone turns on, the camera changes into a ‘black pillbox shape,’ which doubles into a ‘mini notification center,’ along with GPS and a timer running in the background, VP of human interface, Alan Dye.

New safety features are highlighted in a video posted by the company

As Drance said, the company has introduced a ‘groundbreaking’ new system, using this system users can connect to satellites to text emergency services.

Manager of satellite modeling and simulation, Ashley Williams added that “a person without WiFi or cell service could contact emergency resources by pointing the phone at an ideally clear sky. Then, they could use a messaging system to engage in a conversation that asks questions like “Is anyone injured?”

“If an emergency provider takes text messages, it will send those. If not, the company has specific centers with people staffed to send the information along. You can also use the satellite to share your location,” Williams added.

Drance stated, “it would be free for two years on the iPhone 14 and available starting in November in the U.S. and Canada. The iPhone 14s also has a built-in system that can sense if you’re in a car crash and call emergency services if you don’t respond.”
