Follow these steps to protect your Netflix account

  • Log into your Netflix and go to the ‘Your Account” section.
  • Then check your viewing activity.
  • In case you notice any suspicious activity there, it is a must to check out your recent account access. Remember, since your viewing activity can be modified (you can “x” out certain things), if you feel your Netflix has been hacked, it is advised to go to recent account access even if there isn’t unusual viewing.
  • Here you will be able to see all the places your account has been accessed from. If you don’t recognize any of them, it’s likely your account has been hacked.
  • If it has been there’s an easy fix. Navigate back to your settings and choose “Sign out of all devices.”
  • This will kick everyone who is logged into your account off.
  • Now, change your password to make sure these hackers or unwanted users are unable to use your account

How to Protect Your Netflix Account from Getting Hacked

Abide by these rules to protect your Netflix account from getting hacked:

  • Change your password every 3months. Also, use strong password generators for that.
  • Have different passwords for all your accounts
  • It is always good to set up a 4-digit PIN for your personal Netflix account to keep unauthorised users out.
  • Sign out of all devices when you are done watching your favourite show.
  • If you still feel your account is hacked, then delete your account altogether and create a new one with a secure email and password. 
  • Always use a VPN on your devices.
