Google seems geared up to launch a slew of new features this New Year. After it announced tightening of security measure around GPay and its transactions, AI tech for medical notes, it has now announced a Highlight tab for Contacts on the Android platform.
This tab is meant to add contacts who you can engage with, across the app, in totality. It is way more dense than the Favorites tab. Look for this new tab between Fix and Manage button and Contacts button.
No more going over all your contacts to locate one that you need, becomes possible with this feature.
This new feature comes in a grid format that accounts for more organization and neatness on the app.
More on the block
Besides this Highlight tab, Google also added a ‘Recents’ tab to check on recently viewed or used contacts along with complete history.
Check on the latest ‘Added Recently’ tab too that provides a list of all new contact info you might have added.
Earlier, Google had launched the Fix and Manage feature for editing contact info and making any major changes. While this tab didn’t offer any exclusive experience, the latest additions might just be more helpful. Some time earlier, at its Google for India event, the photo search option using the Camera option on the search browser for Chrome, saw launch in India. This spec has been much used across the US over some time now. This lets you discover a website or shopping link or mere information using just any image you have or even a screenshot.
