Ok, be honest. How many hours do you actually spend on your phone every single day? Despite knowing the side effects of staring at the screens of our mobile devices, most of us tend to spend hours scrolling data on our phones. Right from the time when we wake up to when we fall asleep, we tend to keep checking our phone for one thing or other. 

We have forgotten how our lives were like before we had phones. We are sure, at some, point, you must have read or watched something that had ideas about how to do more things that make you forget your phone. But were you truly able to do something about it?

There are a lot of apps available both on Android and iOS that can lock certain apps on your phone. Depending upon which app you tend to spend the most time on, it can be locked or you can even set a customized time profile so that you can access it only during that time window.

Try to not touch your phone first thing in the morning. Begin you day with some reading or meditation. Even if you find it hard to stay away from your phone, just try to do it for a day. One day at a time should be your mantra. 

Plan some physical activity during your day and in that time do not use your phone. Most of us use our phone to track activities like walking, running, etc. But you will surely see how different you feel if you can just focus on doing things that you enjoy rather than constantly looking at your phone screen. 

Today, when phones have become a huge part of who we are as people it is very difficult to find do things that can make us forget our phones. But remember, too much of anything is bad. A little bit of self-discipline can go a long way one ensuring that we control the technology that we use and not the other way around.
