The new party-based role-playing video game Baldur’s Gate 3 with dungeons and dragons from Larian Studios is out with its third version. While most users buy the Standard Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3, you can top it up with the Baldur’s Gate 3 Digital Deluxe Edition for additional features that enhance the game. This comes 23 years after the original launch of the game.
It is notable that PS5 users would have 72 hours of early access once the digital version of the latest Baldur’s Gate video game is launched. However, PC users would not have access. This early access is a major selling point for this edition for PS5 users. It is worth it for people who cannot wait to play the game.
The company has said that the Deluxe Edition would have in-game content for the players to get a head-start in their journey. However, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Digital Deluxe Edition of this game has an additional cost. Find out if it is worth the extra amount spent over the standard edition?

2. Turned-based combat and multiple playthroughs: This version of the game is turn-based in combat. While earlier versions had role play, this one is methodical. It has a slower approach than what players are used to today. However, once you get used to it, it allows you time for planning as well as execution.
Since it has multiple playthroughs, players would have to go through Baldur’s Gate 3 quite a few times to complete the game in its entierity. It is to be noted that all the decisions of the player will also impact everything about the game. You would be moving across some paths while missing certain others.
For instance, if you play the game taking the ‘good’ path mostly then you would be missing dialogue, achievements, stories, fights, and everything else that is present on the ‘evil’ path.
There are further variations on the good and evil path. Thus, you need to play the game several times to explore and experience all the possibilities.
3. A long game: The developers have said that the players are expected to put in roughly 100 hours for the game. Thus, this game is not something that you can finish in a day or overnight or for that matter in several days.
However, the time to complete the game depends on various factors. You may need less time if you do not read all dialogues, and search every barrel, crate, or bookshelf. The playtime would increase if you navigate through traps or combat slowly and take time to solve a puzzle.
Potential encounters and many choices could lead to several hours of gameplay especially when you go for different choices, characters, and more.
Luckily, users can save the game.
Death shall lead to reload in this game. Thus, it is advisable to save the game every 15 to 20 minutes. Otherwise, the game shall head back to the beginning and you would have to do everything all over again.
If you really want to enjoy this game, it one has to be as involved as in the Clash of Kings. Since it’s a role-play game, it needs time. it also has the length and breadth needed to play.
4. Limited to four players: This game is a multiplayer game. However, it is limited to four players. Thus, if you have a larger group of people interested to play the game then the only solution is to split up. You can bring a maximum of four gamer friends or one or two people along with some NPC companions such as the original characters.
5. A digital-only version: Baldur’s Gate 3 Digital Deluxe Edition is a digital-only version of the game. It comes with characteristic items such as a Digital OST for a factastic soundtrack. There is also a digital artbook as well as digital character sheets. A word to the wise, this also means the version is only available online.
