AI Might Replace Jobs Soon, are you Worried?

With the onset of AI platforms such as ChatGPT , the tension over if these will jobs in the future. While lots have been said and written about ChatGPT, there is no consensus around what the future of jobs could look like.

A look at AI’s evolution 

Generative platforms have nevertheless been much loved.

Market leader, Tata Consultancy Services or TCS believes that AI can be used as an add-on tool to enhance productivity but can never replace typical organization models.

Even Bing AI is grabbing interest and eyeballs. Global biggies such as BuzzFeed Media has welcomed ChatGPT as an improvement tool to enhance company growth. It is touting ChatGPT to be an “AI co-worker” but not a tool to replace jobs.

The use case for AI

AI has been highly in-demand and has been getting a lot on interesting depictions in media. No doubt, it is set to find lot of takers. From giving out the right results to making dating apps better, AI has been contributing immensely. Data reveals that AI has been contributing to around 270% growth since the previous four years. 

Debates around the AI platforms replacing jobs is simply like debates seen around similar tech tools seen over time.

Milind Lakkad, CHRO at TCS  says,  “Generative AI platforms would improve productivity, but not change the business models. But jobs will not be replaced but the definitions will be changed.”

An end note

Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella had quoted similar stuff around the launch of Bing AI and stated that the latter would add to “satisfaction in current jobs and net new jobs.” 

Deepti Varma, Senior HR at Amazon said that the company uses Alexa for easing hiring. She adds that Amazon US currently is experimenting with AI for reducing over dependency on any single recruiter.
