- Once you have created your individual account, log in. At the top right hand corner of your browser, you will see an icon called Work. You will now see the menu. At the bottom of the menu click on ‘Create a Company Page’.
- There will be four options available; Small business, Medium to Large business, showcase Page and Educational Institution.
- Fill in all the required details and then when you’re done, click on ‘Create Page’.
The above steps are for manually creating your business page.
Here is one interesting twist though. After creating a company page manually, many users find that their company page already exists.
This may happen in cases where LinkedIn creates a page for a company when a user mentions the company in his/her profile. If the company page already doesn’t exist, LinkedIn creates one on its own.
If you encounter such a situation, you will have to claim the company page created by LinkedIn for your business.
According to LinkedIn policies, the admin rights are automatically given to the creator of the company page. All the activities which take place on the page can be executed only by the administrators.
Claiming a company page on LinkedIn is fairly simple. You need to follow these steps –
- Find the company page.
- Click on the option ‘Claim this page’.
- You will be asked to verify that you are an authorized personnel of the company.
- Once you have put in the details, click on “Confirm’. And you are done!
