The latest information by XperiaBlog has confirmed the rumors about Sony working on an oversize 6.44-inch smartphone. The Japanese company may announce the launch of the Xperia Z Ultra, previously referred as Xperia Togari, on June 25.
The sources at XperiaBlog have also exposed the features of the Xperia Z Ultra or Xperia ZU. The new phablet is likely to adorn a massive 6.44-inch Full HD display with Triluminos technology for richer colors. The touch screen sensor will also be new to allow input from either a stylus, pencil or something like this. It will sport an 8-megapixel camera and not the 13- megapixel one due to some issues.
X-Reality Engine, an upgrade to the older Mobile Bravia Engine 2 to enhance the color and contrast of images and videos will be packed in the Xperia ZU too, according to VR-Zone’s sources. This first-ever phablet by Sony will run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which is clocked at 2.3GHz.
The launching date is not yet confirmed by the company but considering its press event in Germany on June 25, it is speculated that Xperia ZU, the water and dust proof phone with an IP58 certification, will be unveiled on the said date.
