Samsung has unveiled Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear 2 Neo just days ahead of its flagship Galaxy S5 release. Samsung’s decision did not come as a surprise as the company had already announced release of more smartwatches within a few months of Android based Galaxy Gear launch.
The new models look similar to the pioneer Galaxy Gear but all are different from one another in certain ways.
To start with, the new models are not Android based but run on Tizen OS by Samsung. Both the latest ones have different price points with the Neo assumed to be more affordable. As far as specifications are concerned, these two devices are almost similar. However, while the Galaxy Gear 2 comes with a 2 MP camera coupled with HD video recording feature, Galaxy Gear 2 Neo shall not have any camera. Both come in the same size of 1.64 inches with 320×320 resolutions and an AMOLED display.
Other features common to both include: 512MB RAM, 4GB memory storage, 300 mAh battery and most importantly 1.0GHz dual-core processors.
These watches offer different health and fitness related features like sleep and stress measurements, heart rate sensor, pedometer, etc. You would also get different exercise related special modes like walking, cycling, running, etc. A plenty of apps along with support for notifications and calls are packed with these devices. These watches will be compatible with all Samsung smartphones even though these will run on Tizen OS. The best part is that these would have music players with speaker support and Bluetooth headset.
Though most of the features and specifications are out yet there is no news about the actual date of release and pricing of any of the devices. It seems, Samsung has decided to keep mum till the release of Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S5, Google Nexus 6 and iPhone 6 are all set to release this year. All three devices are s tough competition for each other. Though all of them are not suppose to get release at the same time, they are surely getting a back-to-back release.

It can also have a 12MP camera. The storage space is supposed to be the regular 64GB as with the previous iPhone models. It would surely have A7 processor if not a better one as per the rumor mills.
If rumors are anything to go by then, Google Nexus 6 is slated to release in the last week of October 2014. Some of the speculated features that are doing the rounds need special mention. This device is believed to have 2.4 Ghz+ processor, true octa-core. It would atleast have 4GB RAM. It is believed to come in two variants in terms of memory- 64GB and 128GB.
