There have been several reports online that claimed that Samsung is working towards developing a premium version of its recently launched flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5, and now more images have leaked online that are claimed to be that of the rumoured device.
Vietnamese blog Tinhte has released the images of a device with the name of Samsung Galaxy Alpha on the boot screen only without that rumoured premium metallic casing.
@evleaks has tweeted that the device showed in the leaked images are more similar to that of the Galaxy Note 3 and is very different from the design previously shown off in purported press renders.
The device has also featured the LTE-A logo along with the advanced 4G LTE standard available in South Korea. This suggests that it would be a limited edition device or only available in certain territories.
The Galaxy Alpha was earlier reported as identical to the S5 Prime and the Galaxy F, and is now reported as somewhere between the Galaxy S5 and the forthcoming Galaxy Note 4.
The device is likely to be equipped with a 4.7-inch screen as well as a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and a 16MP camera.

The official launch of Samsung’s flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5, is just few days away, but reports have surfaced online about the specifications of Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime bearing the model number SM-G906S.
The model number SM-G906S for Galaxy S5 Prime completely makes sense as the model number for the regular Galaxy S5 is SM-G900. This comes despite a recent announcement by Samsung that the company is not scheduled to launch any such device from its production lines any time soon.
The mysterious device has been termed as a certified phablet having a screen size of 5.2 inches with an amazing pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440 or almost double the number of pixels found on the original Galaxy S5 model. The device is also expected to have a 1080p display as well as a 2K front panel that uses Quad HD rendering.
The upcoming phablet is expected to be powered by a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 805 having a top speed of 2.5GHz.Experts believe that the 805 chipset is a much better powerhouse than the Qualcomm 801, which is equipped into the regular GS5.
The G906S is to be equipped with a minimum 3GB of RAM or more, and the graphic engine is expected to be the default Snapdragon 805 GPU partner.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S5 Prime will boast a 15.8MP main camera along with a 2MP front-facing shooter. The device is to have 32GB of the basic internal storage with a memory expansion slot that is similar to the specification of the regular GS5.
The SM-G906S would have Android KitKat 4.4.2, and will be having a premium metallic casing as mentioned in the earlier leaks.
After the launch of Samsung Galaxy S5, the Korean manufacturer Samsung has hinted that it is planning to launch a designer phone, which is expected to be launched on 11 April, 2014. This new phone is likely to be referred to as the Galaxy S5 Prime and should be available in stores in May 2014.
Russian tech blogger Eldar Murtazintweeted earlier in 2014 that the company would launch the Galaxy S5 in a premium model, which would be equipped with high-end features and capabilities than the regular edition. Murtazin also claimed that the leaked image of the Galaxy F in 2014 is actually the Galaxy S5 Prime, which would cost higher and will cater to the emerging demand for designer phones.… Read the rest
