iPhone 14 to feature 48MP Camera, iPhone 15 to Feature ‘Periscope lens’ : Ming-Chi Kuo

Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple analyst has predicted about the upcoming iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. He predicts that iPhone 14 will feature a 48 megapixels camera whereas, iPhone 15 will come with ‘periscope’ lens. Kuo says that the continuous upgrading of the iPhone camera lens in the coming years will benefit Daliguang market share, revenue, and profit growth.

It is not yet clear whether all phones in this series will feature periscope lens, but iPhone 15 model is expected to have it.

Jeff Pu, another analyst predicted that the two iPhone 14 Pro models will feature a triple lens camera system. Along with this it will have an upgraded 48 megapixels wide lens, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and Telephoto lenses.

However, the predictions have not been made for the first time. Back in this year, Kuo also said that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max which now has the standard rear cameras will be upgraded to 48-megapixels, a 4x increase over the 12-megapixel sensor in iPhone 12.

Rumours of iPhone featuring the periscope lens were spread before the launch of iPhone 13 as well. Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that it may arrive in 2022.

Expectations from future iPhones

The iPhone cameras in future will come with a higher megapixel count. 9to5Mac says that there is possible downside of increased noise in low-light captures. As far as iPhone 15 is concerned, periscope lens on iPhone 15 will enhance the optical zoom capabilities. iPhone and Android phones will compete in the same race.

The upcoming iPhone 14, that people are eagerly waiting for will come up with up to 2 TB of storage. Apple is expected to adopt QLC flash storage for the coming iPhone. It will then increase the capacity to 2 TB.

Also, the upcoming iPhone may also run-on iOS 16 and will have a battery of 3,815 mAh and will support fast charging.

Periscope lens

It is said to be the best and the latest innovations. It uses a prism mirror system along with lenses. This enhances the phone zoom capabilities and can even capture far-away objects.
