  • In the Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value box, change the Value data field to 0 from 1

  • Exit Registry Editor and restart the computer

Check If the Sensitivity of the Drag and Drop Feature is Set Too High

  • Open the context menu by pressing the Win + X shortcut key
  • Open the Run command search box by selecting Run from the menu
  • Type regedit in the Run command search box
  • Press OK to open the Registry Editor window
  • Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop path in the Registry Editor window
  • Select the DragHeight string value on the right side of the pane
  • Double click on it and in the Edit String window, click on the Value data field and change the value from the default 4 to a little higher
  • Press OK to save the changes and exit
  • Once you are on the Registry Editor again, choose the DragWidth string value which is also set to a default 4, and double click on it
  • Follow the same process as you did for DragHeight and set the same string value as DragHeight
  • Press OK to save the changes and exit
  • Exit Registry Editor and restart the computer
  • The drag and drop feature shall be functioning now
