Launched more than a decade ago, Facebook still is the reigning social media king. In a way, we all have grown up with Facebook. Facebook has evolved over the years and has changed the user experience. At times, we tend to mess up while managing our account and end up deleting posts unintentionally. Today, we will tell you how to recover a deleted post on Facebook.
Let’s know how to recover a deleted post on Facebook
‘Manage activity’ feature on the app:- This feature is available only on app (more about this later in the article). Using this feature, post that has been deleted can be retrieved for unto 30 days. However, if you are deleting a post straight from your newsfeed it probably won’t work. This feature works only with the app version of Facebook.
You will have to go to the app and tap on the three dots that you see. Then tap on the Activity log. Thereafter, tap on Manage Activity. Then tap on your Posts. If you delete a post it straight up goes to trash. To recover a deleted post from Facebook, tap on Trash. You will see a list of all the posts that have been deleted in the last 30 days. You can choose the post that you want back and then ‘Restore’ it.
Select ‘Restore’ to recover the deleted post. You will now be able to see the post on your timeline again.
What if you want to find deleted Facebook posts?
In case you are struggling to find your deleted Facebooks posts with no luck, here are some strategies that you can try.
- In case it was someone else’s content/post that you had shared which is now gone, you can try to look for it at the source itself. Google the original creator or you can also utilize Facebooks’ search function.
- You can also check with your friends. You may have tagged your Facebook friends in your posts. This would have sent a notification to them. If you are looking for a delete post in which your friends were tagged, it could be a good idea to check with them. You might be able to recover the dented posts with their account.
- Certain Facebook posts notify you via email. This means that you may have the post emailed to you and you can recover it via your Inbox.
- A simple word search on Facebook may help you recover the post in case you are able to recall some text from it.
As we mentioned earlier, the ‘Manage Activity’ feature can be used to not only delete but also to restore and archive the content. However, the only drawback is that this feature is only available on the app version of Facebook. The archived content can be restored anytime by tapping the Archive button in the activity log. You can choose which post you want to restore from Archives and Restore it. Or else if you choose to delete it, it moves to Trash and get deleted permanently after 30 days.
