A new report has suggested that US-based tech giant is likely to delay the release of its rumored 12-inch MacBook as Intel is still witnessing Broadwell delays. This new report has been released by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News; however, the company has not yet revealed any launch dates for the 12-inch MacBook.
The publication has claimed that the company is unlikely to ship its rumored 12-inch MacBook Air until late 2014 or early 2015, as it is exoected to be equipped with Intel’s 14-nanometer Broadwell chips. The chips have been witnessing several delays and the issues apparently persist. It has also been rumoured that Intel’s U series Broadwell chips for Apple’s upcoming MacBooks are not likely to be shipped until February 2015.
The rumors related to the launch of the tablet have been doing rounds since October 2013,when trusted KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo claimed that the device would combine the portability of an 11-inch MacBook Air with the productivity of the larger 13-inch version. The analyst also said that the company would also feature its iconic Retina display onto this 12-inch MacBook.
Several sources claimed that the company is likely to launch this model in the fall of 2014, with mass production scheduled to start in the third quarter. Meanwhile, other rumours suggest that the device would be having a redesigned chassis with an ultra-thin profile as well as a revamped trackpad.
