  • Open the Twitter app and Log in
  • Go to Notifications and click on the gear icon
  • Select Muted followed by Muted words

  • Click on Add for as long as you want to mute words and hashtags
  • Choose whether you want to mute these words or hashtags on your Notifications, Timeline or both
  • Select whether you want this setting for tweets From Anyone or From people you don’t follow
  • Click on Duration and select among Forever, 24 hours from now, 7 days from now, or 30 days from now
  • Select Save and Done

  • Visit the Twitter website and log in
  • Choose More from the side navigation
  • Go to Settings
  • Click on the Privacy and safety option
  • Choose Mute and block
  • Select Muted words and click on the plus icon
  • Type in the hashtag or word you want to mute
  • Click on Add for as long as you want to mute words and hashtags
  • Choose whether you want to mute these words or hashtags on your Home timeline, Notifications, or both
  • Select whether you want this setting for tweets From anyone or From people you don’t follow
  • Under Mute timing select among Forever, 24 hours from now, 7 days, or 30 days from now
  • Select Save

How to Mute Notifications for Conversations on Twitter?

You can mute any conversation if you do not want to receive further notifications from the thread of tweets.
