Here is a step-by-step guide on how can you block UPI apps such as Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay if you lose your phone.
How to block your Google Pay account if you lose your phone?

- To block Google Pay, the first step would be to call their helpline no. 18004190157
- First, the number will ask you to choose the language you are comfortable with
- Once you select that, you will be connected to a customer care executive who will guide you through all the steps
- iOS as well as Android users can completely remove the data from their phone remotely
- This means, all your data including your bank details in Google Pay will be removed.
This is the safest way to block UPI payments on your Google Pay account if your mobile is lost.
How to block Phone Pe accounts?
- Phone Pe users have two options to call for customer service — 022-68727374 and 08068727374
- Choose the appropriate number according to the problem
- Again, you will first have to choose your preferred language
- You will be asked to enter the registered phone number
- Once done, you will be asked to enter the OTP
- Here, select the option to not receive the OTP
- When you do that, you will be given an option to report the loss of SIM or device
- You will be connected to a representative who will ask for some details for verification like your email id, your last payment value, phone number confirmation etc.
- After you confirm all these details, your account will be blocked.

How to block your Paytm account?
- The first step to do so would be to call the Paytm helpline number which is 0120-4456456
- The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) will give you the option of a ‘lost phone’
- You will have to choose the option to enter a different number for reference
- Next, you will have to enter your lost phone number
- Once this is done, you can log out from all devices

Block your account on the mobile app
If you want to block your Paytm account on the mobile, here are the steps to follow:
- Open your Paytm app
- Select “☰” on the top left corner of the screen
- Login and go to “24×7 Help”
- Go to profile settings
- Enter the Paytm phone number that your need to block
- Select ‘I lost my phone/I want to block my account’ > ‘I want to block my account to prevent it from misuse’
- Select ‘Message Us’, which will take you to a form
- Enter the phone number registered with Paytm
- You will have to submit your KYC details
Block your Paytm account on the website
- Additionally, you will have to go to the Paytm website and scroll down to select 24 x7 help
- Select the option ‘Report a Fraud’ and click on a relevant category
- Click on the likely issue and select the button which says ‘Message Us’
- You will be asked to provide documents that confirm the ownership of the account
- You will receive a confirmation message once Paytm validates and blocks your account.
