Xiaomi just turned five. In a bid to ring in its birth anniversary, it has launched the Mi TV 2 in 55 inches. Fans had been awaiting ever since Xiaomi launched its 40-inch and 49-inch HD television sets. Now, with the latest release, Xiaomi boasts a 3840 x 2160 pixel LCD RGB display.
Sound and style take precedence as the sub-woofer and a 6.2-inch sound bar in the television set have been spruced up with a brand new aluminum finish. Size of the set is able to accommodate 8 speakers. As in the earlier models, the 55-inch marvel of a TV comes with Dolby MS12 surround sound.
With a sleek 15.2 mm frame and a slim 6 mm bezel, Mi TV is a stunner as far as looks are concerned. This also makes the model sleeker than its 19-inch predecessor. Mi TV brags a storage capacity of 8 GB. Of course, you could connect on the wireless because it comes with a Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual band) and MIMO antenna.
Thanks to the MStar 6A928 chipset, the model is indeed ‘smart television.’ The other notable features of the Mi TV to go gaga over, are:
- 1.4GHz processor
- Mali-T760 GPU
- 2GB RAM
The better news about this television set would please anime fans. Mi TV supports 10-bit modes as well as H.265 video. Besides so much, it comes with a vested capacity to decode 2160p@60fps footage thanks to its HDMI 2.0 port. While it has just been launched yesterday, you could grab it from the racks come April 8th if you are lucky enough to be in China. Xiomi is yet to offer any good news on the Mi TV’s offshore availability yet.
