A recent announcement from phone manufacturer Blackberry took the app world by storm. The company has said that it plans to launch the BB messenger, once voraciously popular for its deftness, on both Android and iPhone. This news is sure to trouble the people sitting at the apex of other social networks and chat apps. Once only available to Blackberry users, if the new BBM heads for the Android and iPhone, it will work as head on competition with Whatsapp.

While it is too early to decide who will be king, it’s going to be a tough fight. However, if we see the new BBM on the Blackberry Z10, this messaging app could sure be on its way up. The new Blackberry messenger has BBM voices and also the BBM Video with screen share. One more feature of the BBM, where the native Whatsapp messenger lags behind, is in its pricing. The BBM messenger comes for free but for the Whatsapp messenger one need to pay $0.99 after the one year trail version is over. Though the amount is a meager, BBM does get a position of pride.
