What Lies Beneath Sony Xperia Z: Well It Sure Know How To Give Shivers To Samsung Galaxy S3

Sony may not have been doing too well in the smartphone market over the past few years. But with its latest flagship, the Xperia Z, looks like Sony is all set for immense success in 2013. Among the first of the companies to make a 5-inch smartphone, the Xperia Z is big not just in size, but also in power and features.

The Xperia Z is powered by a quad-core 1.5 Ghz Krait processor and 2 GB of RAM. Its 5-inch screen has a resolution of 1080X1920 pixels – a ppi count of 441, and is powered by Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and also has an Adreno 320 GPU. The Xperia Z has 16 GB of internal storage and also allows users to add more memory using microSD cards. Sony has also put in a massive 2330 mAh battery, which gives it a talktime of up to 14 hours.

It is fitted with a 13 MP rear camera with an Exmos RS sensor, which has auto-focus, face detection and can even record videos at full HD resolution at 30 fps, HDR, and an LED flash. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 2.2 MP. But that’s not all – what makes this phone truly remarkable is the fact that it is dust and water resistant, and features a shatter-proof and scratch-resistant glass in the front as well as in the back.
