Instagram is a social networking service owned by Facebook, Inc. It was developed by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. The app enables users to upload pictures and videos that can be edited with different filters and organized with location information. The cross-platform application reported more than one billion active monthly users as of June 2018. Instagram audiences are predominantly young – recent U.S. information shows that half of Instagram users are 34 years of age or younger. Instagram is also one of the second-most significant social networks of teenage internet users. When it comes to the most followers on Instagram, it’s no surprise that the list is dominated by pop singers and athletes. Some celebrities even have Instagram follower counts greater than entire nations’ demographic counts.
