Twitter Adds Color Filters for User Pics, Close to Instagram on Facebook

The rivalry between Facebook and Twitter took new turn yesterday when Twitter added the color filters to the user-uploaded photos.

The filters added by Twitters are quite close to the one’s used by Instagram. The rivalry between two social network giants has gained new heights since the former acquired Instagram for $715 million.

The new feature has been rolled out just few days after when Instagram pulled out services from Twitter

The reason, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said, was to drive visitors to Instagram’s own website.

Accoding to analysts if Facebook  taps the Instagram capability then it could become great source of revenue for the social networking website.

Twitter said its new features are powered by Aviary, a New York-based company that develops image-editing software for photo-sharing platforms like Flickr, among others.
