Troubled Times for The Apple iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2: Chip Designer of A7 Processor Quits Job

Apple had pulled off quite the coup when it managed to hire Raja Korudi, a renowned chip designer, from AMD back in 2009 to help design its own chipsets. But Korudi, who was rumored to be working on the brand new A7 processor, has supposedly quit the firm and gone back to AMD, leaving Apple in the lurch.

Now the A7 processor was rumored to debut in the upcoming iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2, but with Korudi leaving Apple at this juncture, we wonder what would be the fate of the next generation tablets. To his credit, Korudi has been the designer of Apple’s processors starting from the A4 chip and has played an important role in developing the new A7 processor too.

But the real question in Apple fans’ minds is if this departure would have any impact on the release of the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2, both of which have already been quite delayed. Or what if there was no plan on making an A7 processor in the first place at all? What goes on in Apple, no one can tell.
