The word going around is that Apple is gearing up to ship iPhone 6 or the iPhone Math as it has been code-named in September. Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company claims that the phone would ship with a significantly large display at 4.8 inches.
This means, iPhone 6 would have enough room for a fingerprint scanner, a big improvement over the iPhone 5c’s and iPhone 5s’ 4-inch display.
Arcuri went on to say that the iPhone 6 will have 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard built in that promises speeds thrice as fast as the current 802.11n wireless networks. The 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard can notch up a speed of over 1GB per second. Apart from other hardware and design changes, he goes on to offer that Apple is planning a few major software innovations this year including the next big release of its flagship iOS platform and leveraging Touch ID, iBeacon, and Passbook with an aim to offer new services with mobile payments. Other iPhone 6 rumours talk about the phone’s release in a number of sizes ranging from 4.7 to 5.7 inches.
