The Samsung Apple Rivalry Getting Bigger: The Former Gets iPhone And iPad Banned at AT&T


With the International Trade Commission (ITC), placing veto on import of older versions of the iPhone and iPad attuned with the AT&T wireless network, Samsung has won the stint against Apple. The barred Apple products comprise of AT&T compatible iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G along with iPad 3G and the iPad 2 3G .

The cutting-edge ITC verdict upturned an early determination of an administrative law judge in September that preferred Apple. Therefore, Samsung had filed for a review on October 2012.

The ITC decision specified, “Notice is hereby given that the U.S. ITC has found a violation of section 337 in this investigation, issuing limited exclusion order that prohibits Apple Inc. of Cupertino, California (“Apple”), from importing wireless devices, portable music and data processing devices and tablet computers that infringe claims 75-76 and 82-84 of U.S. Patent No. 7,706,348 .”

During an interview, Apple spokesperson Kristin Huguet , said, “We are disenchanted that the Commission has reversed an earlier ruling so we plan to appeal. Today’s decision has no bearing on the accessibility of Apple products in the U.S thereby Samsung using a stratagem.”

In the same interview, Samsung tinted on the fact that how Apple took benefit of Samsung’s technological novelties, confirmed by ITC.  Besides appealing to the court, Apple can also hope that U.S. President will bar the directive post -White House review.
