There has been much speculation about the iPhone 5C. Apple’s media event of yesterday has put it to rest. What is evident is that the iPhone 5C is not cheap and it is colourful. It is actually not that surprising a move by Apple if one can remember all the colour options available for the plastic body iMac all those years ago?
The iPhone 5C is pretty much an iPhone 5 with fancy clothes on. It is actually a replacement for the iPhone 5. Needless to say, it will run the latest iOS 7 and is made out of polycarbonate. The iPhone 5C will continue with an 8 MP camera, same as the iPhone 5, but the camera has been improved. Expect the iPhone 5C to be a bit heavier and bulkier that the original iPhone 5. While the iPhone 5C runs iOS 7 out of the box, the iPhone 5 will get the update and with it many of the cool new camera effects.
All in all, the iPhone 5C is great as a new phone, but it does not really make sense spending money to upgrade from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 5C.
