The Venue Pro 8 is an 8 inch tablet making it direct competition for the Apple  iPad Mini2 which is 7.9 inches and the latest Nexus 7 which is 7 inches. The Venue Pro 8 uses Windows 8.1, the iPad Mini uses iOS 6 and the new Nexus 7 uses Android. The Venue Pro 8 1080p screen compares well against the iPad Mini’s 1024p. The new  Google Nexus 7 though has an amazing 1920 by 1200 resolution display.  The Venue Pro has a major advantage in the fact that it supports expandable memory via Micro SD card while the iPad Mini and the Nexus 7 do not.

The Venue Pro 8 lacks LTE and cellular support which is a major shortcoming for any new tablet these days.
